Easy Falafel Recipe

Photo taken by me of Falafel and Hummos dipp  (Click link for recipe)

I choose a special receipt for you today from my mixed culture background. Another famous middle eastren dish "Falafel". Who doesnt adore a hot pita bread with crispy yummy falafel, topped with thick melted tahini sauce and some fresh vegetables.

1-15 ounce can chickpeas, drained and rinsed (UnCooked)
1/2 cup chopped onion
1 tablespoon chopped fresh garlic
2 tablespoons chopped fresh cilantro
2 tablespoons dried parsley
1 teaspoon cumin powder
1 teaspoon coriander powder
1 small onion
1 teaspoon  salt
1 teaspoon baking powder
2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
1 tablespoons light olive oil
1/4 cup all-purpose flour in a small bowl
2 tablespoons light olive oil in a small bowl
normal - corn oil to fry the falafel

3 pitas or pocketed flat bread
1 roma tomato, sliced
1 Cucumber, quartered and sliced
Tahini sauce (recipe below)

Tahini Sauce:

1/2 cup tahini
1/4 cup water
2 tablespoons light olive oil
1 lemon, zest and juice
1 tablespoon minced garlic
1/2 teaspoon salt

Add the first 11 ingredients (from chickpeas to the two tablespoons of flour) to a bowl and mix well. Transfer mixture to a food processor and process until smooth, adding the olive oil as you start the processor. Once processed and there's no large lumps left, scrape back into the mixing bowl.
At this point, you should get the rest of your equipment together so that the shaping of the falafel goes smoother.

Shape the falafel into a small round disk and place on the Silpat. Repeat the process until all the falafel are done.

Prepare frying  pan to hear the oil ( corn / vegetable  Normal oil ) before frying the Falafel . You could fry them at this point but you are better off refrigerating them for 2 hours to firm the ingredients.

Cook the falafel for 5-10 minutes on both sides. Carefully flip them with a spatula and the cook on the second side until they turn light brown and crispy.

While the falafel is frying, prepare the tahini sauce and the cucumber and tomato slices. To prepare the tahini sauce, place all ingredients in a tall narrow container and blend until smooth with an immersion blender.
When the falafel is done, serve with pita, sliced tomato, sliced cucumber and tahini sauce.

First the making of the prodocts:

1- Homemade Body Wash

- 12 cups water

  1. Bring the water to a soft simmer, add the soap and stir until completely melted.
  2. Turn off heat and add glycerin.
  3. Cover and allow to set for 24 hours.

2- Citrus Salt Body Scrub

1. 1/2 cup sea salt
2. 1/2 cup sweet almond oil
3. (can substitute light olive oil or vegetable oil)
4. 1/2 teaspoon lemon zest
5. 1/2 teaspoon orange zest

In a medium dry bowl, combine all ingredients making sure to not let any water touch them as it will dissolve the salt. Pour mixture into an airtight container and store in a cool dry place.
To use: Just before showering, swirl ingredients together with your fingertips to mix. Clean body completely and just before exiting shower, apply Citrus Salt Body Scrub to body in a firm circular scrubbing motion with hands or a soft washcloth. Rinse off the mixture and pat body dry with a clean towel.
3- Homemade Lotion

1. 3/4 cup oil (olive, avocado or coconut are great choices*)
2. 3 tablespoons beeswax
3. 3/4 cup water, rose water, or herbal tea – room temp or slightly warmer
4. essential oil for fragrance (optional)
* If you use coconut keep it at room temp because it will become solid in the fridge.

Second thing how to decorate it:

You need
Your choice of glass jar or bottle ( glass bottles from Ikea. $16.95 AUD for pack of 3 ) that matches the quantity of the product. It would be preferable if the glass has no drawings or brand lables on it.
Print out onto glossy white stock and cut around the edge of the labels. To stick them onto the bottles or jars, you can also use double-sided tape.

DIY Pamper for Wellness: Home Spa Treats

Hello buddies, I hope you all having a wonderful weekend. Yesterday I had a great relaxing Saturday, I exercised by jogging for 6.33 km and after I did half an hour Yoga stretching outdoors in the house yard. I felt really great and fresh the whole day as I eat healthy and I kept my lemon detox drink near me ( already posted on the blog previously, click link).  By evening time I decided to have a home spa treat by making DIY body care products that I am writing now to share with you. Besides the ingredients below you will also need these items to pamper for wellness:

1 Good book ( your favorite choice )
2 A big cup of your choice of herbal tea.
3 Light up incense or smelling candles.
4 Bucket of hot water and some roses to soak those tired feet in a warm, scented bowl
5 Relaxing music sounds, I recommend Japanese flute music or nature sounds of waves or forest.

Now here is the the list:

Hair Care:  Egg yolks won't only make your hair softer, shinier, and healthier, but it helps you to grow it out long as well. Mix 2 egg yolks with 2 tbsp of olive oil, dilute the mixture by adding a cup of water, and then slowly and thoroughly massage this mask into your scalp. Give your hair and scalp 15 to 20 minutes to absorb all the needed nutrients and then rinse off.

Face Care: Mix lemon juice and egg white together and put it on my face as a mask. Let it dry and then rinse it off with warm water. I did this every sunday, after doing this my skin was less oily, The breakouts became non existent and all the acne scars were gone.

Teath WhiteningDr. Oz Teeth Whitening Home Remedy: 1/4 cup of baking soda + lemon juice from half of a lemon. Apply with cotton ball or q-tip. Leave on for no longer than 1 minute, then brush teeth to remove.

Feet Care: Since its the flip-flop season, This will take the dead skin right off your feet. After soaking your feet into the hot water bowl with roses for 20 Minutes ( while waiting read a book and drink hot herb tea while listening to the relaxing music), try this foot scrub! 1 cup coarse sea salt. 1/2 cup sweet almond oil . tsp lemon zest (zest from 1 lemon). drops peppermint essential oil. Mix all ingredients, rub into your wet feet with hands or pumice stone, paying extra attention to your heels. Rinse off with warm water, dry and apply lotion.
