Hello buddies! I hope you are having a wonderful week.. Last week I made my first sale on Etsy, The Flamingo Party painting was sold and shipped to U.S. All went smooth, perfectly on time and the painting found appreciation of the buyer which is a big thing for me. Now I am glad to announce the new born painting of mine Happy Mask. In this work of art I choose only bright and happy colors, inspired by the so called law of attraction and positive thinking.
I am planning now to focus more on my painting and creativity skills and try to organize and grow My.Paintings And Tales the shop, associated with the recent decor style, holidays and the up coming events such as valentines ext.. I will be creating a collection of valentine cards this year to help share the love with an original artistic touch. Cards will be originally handmade of watercolor and will be frame-able, signed and dated by the artist.
Looking forward to hear your opinion!!
Hello dear readers, I hope you all had a wonderful week and looking forward for the weekend relief. Here I have this lovely recipe to try for Sunday breakfast, afternoon tea time or to be served with warm winter soups. If you love baking in the weekend this post is for you. I hope you enjoy it ..
- 1 medium zucchini, grated
- 2 eggs, beaten
- 2 tsps vanilin sugar (alternatively, normal sugar with 1 tsp vanilla extract)
- 1 cup self-raising flour
- 2/3 cup crushed walnuts
- A pinch of ground nutmeg
- 1 tbsp demerara sugar (coarse sugar) – optional for toppings
(Note: Less liquid will be generated from the zucchini when you coarsely grate it – which I have done. And because of that, I added 2 tbsps of milk to moisten the batter; On the other hand, if you finely grate it, more liquid will be generated and therefore longer baking time.)
- Preheat oven to 170 degrees C / 338 degrees F
- Combine all ingredients and transfer into a greased loaf tin. Refrigerate for 5 minutes.
- Just before baking, sprinkle the loaf with walnuts and demerara sugar.
- Bake for 35 minutes or until a skewer inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Allow to cool before serving.
Hello buddies! I hope you all having a wonderful weekend. Today Is the second SUNNY day in row, what a bless. I often get depressed when its foggy and gray. Its been two months exactly now since I moved here and started establishing a new life style to adapt.
Speaking of life style today I wanna share with you some pieces of a book I read few months ago called the 7 Habits of Highly Effective People. I learned a new concept and a perspective from the book that I am putting to action at the moment. Changing your habits means changing yourself and if you have a plan to become the ideal you, you gotta start from your habits to achieve that goal. Personally because I like challenging myself always, I added changing habits and considered it a hard task I am going to get done. So I changed my daily routine few weeks ago as follows ; working out everyday, having my last meal ( dinner ) at 5 pm, drinking coffee only once a day without sugar, drinking lots of water and milk (Newly), drink only herbal tea in the evenings, I already don't drink soda. I no longer have cakes and unhealthy snacks (Fika) between meals. I study and keeping my goal to read two books every week.
Now the habits I am still struggling to change is the sleeping and waking times. For useful fun activities I am starting from today to practice piano and guitar in my free time instead of playing Sims or other computer games...ex.. Its so easy to learn anything from the web now days, no need for teachers or trainers. All you will need is your good will..
If you wanna have an idea about the book, here is a summary for you! Enjoy
Hello lovelies! I am finally done with this challenging home project making Greek-key pillows. I adore how the Greek- Key design make the spaces look very luxurious and classic. The project was harder then I thought. I've searched the web and saw that some people use fabric tape to create this type of shapes easily, but I guess I have done it the hard way using water proof color for fabric to fill up the space I designed before on plastic paper, draw and cut the needed lines and stick it on the fabric. It was very hard to make the exact needed line on the fabric and not having some color drops over spilled on the corners. So it took me a while to adjust the lines. Here you can take a look at the second photo, it shows the steps I toke making my DIY Greek-Key pillow!
Do you like to challenge yourself and make new things? craft projects, sewing or embroidery ext.. I would like to hear your ideas..
