I don't know know from where to start. This past ten months has been the happiest and most precious in my life that no words can clearly describe. There has been both tough and joyful moments, but it all passed by leaving great memories I will never forget.
Julia is growth each day makes feel mixed emotions. I want her to grow but in the same time I want to keep this lovely period while she is a little baby. I do my best to not miss any moment, keeping an eye on her every little details and discovering her new developments day by day.
She makes me laugh, she fills my days with joy, beauty, cuteness, coziness and sometimes craziness :-P ..
I haven't been able to blog while we are on vacation. I tried to stay connected by social media and sharing some of the live videos and photos from sights we visited. As soon as we are back I will be writing about the whole trip and will get to the blog going as it used to be. Meanwhile this is how we are spending our days here..
Life Hacks, Style
Just like blogger Jessica author of Pig&Dac blog says in her 23 tips for creating the life you want :
– this gave me chills. Another reason to listen to the whispers in your heart…there’s something bigger trying to come through you. Don’t be afraid to follow through.
– you have something to offer. We were born to create."
The idea of me blogging about style, cooking, homedecor etc.. comes from the same feeling Jessica mentioned. And I myself wrote on the blog About Page in a more simple way. I am not an expert but I like to pass though the inspiration which I personally search for from others.
So I am sharing with you couple of inspirational style boards which I created as a guide to Personal Basic Style. If you haven't found your personal style yet see This 8 Tips to Help You Find Your Personal Style, or try this Style Quiz. One of my quick and easy original recipes which we love, especially if we are having a lazy day dinner TV. Or a quick lunch before my hubby leaves for work. If you do not like spicy food you can control the amount of spice by how many chili flakes you use. Two chili flakes for two servings is mild, three would be very spicy.
INGREDIENTS (6 servings)
1 or 2 Chili flakes ( depends on how spicy you want the pasta to be)
2 tablespoons olive oil
Spicy sausages or salami
3 garlic cloves, minced
1 can crushed tomatoes with added puree
453 g farfalle (bow-tie pasta)
5 tablespoons black olive
1/2 teaspoon dried crushed red pepper
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
Pinch of kosher salt
Optional: chopped fresh basil , parmesan cheese for garnish
Start as shown in the photo where I minced garlic and the chili flakes in olive oil.
In a heavy large skillet medium-high heat, add the garlic chili mix and fry until golden.
Add the salami, tomato sauce and olive; sauté until tender about 3 minutes longer. Reduce heat to low and simmer until the mixture thickens, about 3 minutes.
Season to taste with salt and pepper.
Meanwhile, cook pasta in large pot of boiling salted water until tender but still firm to bite. Drain, reserving 1 cup cooking liquid. Return pasta to same pot.
Add sauce mixture and toss over medium-low heat until sauce coats pasta, adding reserved cooking liquid by 1/4 cupfuls if mixture is dry. Transfer pasta to serving dish. Sprinkle with basil. Serve, passing cheese separately.
I love organizing and keeping things in the right place. Our home started getting tighter and tighter and I can't wait when we will finally move to a bigger space once we find our dream home. So I can organize in better storage space.
One of my favorite things to keep tidy is the closet!! and I follow some small steps to keep things in order even when I ran out of space. Today we had one of them rare sunny January days in Västernorrlands. One really knows the sun worth when moves to live in winter dark lands. I used to hate sunny weather back in the days when I was in North Africa.
We went to a frozen lake called Sidsjön and enjoyed ice skating around the lake. I am an ice skating beginner, so it was great for me to use the baby stroller as a support. Both walking, skiing and ice skating are a great activity to do here once in a while when we get lucky with such weather.
Julia was enjoying the ride around as much as we did. And at the end she toke a good nap, thanks to the outdoors fresh air. I took some moment to capture these lovely photos and save them in our parenthood / family diary.
Finally got some time to write an update. We traveled to Malaga and came back yesterday night. It was such an amazing weather! sunshine, blue sky and 18c. We enjoyed the Spanish cuisine on our first evening at El Meson de Cervantes. It was a family friendly place and perfect for baby strollers as most Spanish restaurant has too little space.
Next day I tried to see as much as I can of Malaga city especially the old part. I took the photos below and some live Instagram videos. I made sure to enjoy the Mediterranean sea fresh fish because I miss it so much while living in Sweden, like sardines and octopus. Julia was very happy with the weather and she loved watching pets and pigeons everywhere while siting in her strollers as I walked around the narrow streets of old malaga.
Lots of things felt like Casablanca actually. I was surprised to see too many smilier things... even the peoples faces. So I didn't feel strange at all. I hope you guys enjoy this photos of Malaga from my lens.
Finally the temperature raised back up again to 0 yesterday and I managed to go outside and get some stuff done. I visited the city mall where lots of sale is going on since Christmas day. After a long day out I came back home exhausted but still had tasks waiting for me... I completed all the things that had to be done home and I decided that Sunday is going to be my lazy day of the week.
Actually a Mom's day can't be really lazy because the baby "To Dos" are a must and no way to skip them especially when my hubby is working abroad. I try to convince myself that I will somehow have an easy relaxing day like the old times when I used to work.
During Julia's first nap around 9 , I made myself a good hot chocolate cup. And I drank it while reading a book and listening to some relaxing music playing on the background with the Live fireplace video on TV. Chatted with couple of old friends over the phone. And at meal times I decided I wont cook today nor order food. So I micro heated some frozen pizza and pie leftovers that were previously home cooked.
Each time Julia had a nap or was busy playing, of course after she was changed and fed, I could steal some moment to myself to get back and enjoy my laziness while still watching over her. So basically I shortened my lazy Sunday in couple of moments here and there to make myself feel that I actually can make some time for myself rather than just taking care of things everyday.
When I post live photos on social media accounts while cooking, I get messages from followers asking me to post the recipe as soon as I am done. So just as requested recently..
